In the face of the extraordinarily challenging of the Covid-19 global pandemic, the ASCO and Korean Society of Medical Oncology (KSMO) hosted the virtual joint symposium and ASCO Breakthrough session from September 3rd to 4th through KSMO 2020 Virtual webcast to 1,700 participants worldwide with real-time interactive Q&A.
ASCO/KSMO Joint Symposium: Accelerating Precision Medicine in Real-World
and Utilize Real-World Evidence
First held in 2018, the ASCO/KSMO joint symposium has been held annually at the KSMO Annual Meeting. This year, the symposium covered:
● The TAPUR study: Learning from precision medicine in practice - Richard L. SCHILSKY (ASCO)
● CancerLINQ, ASCO's real-world data platform: Challenges and perspectives - Cory D. WIEGERT (CancerLinQ, ASCO)
● Research applications of CancerLINQ - Robert S. MILLER (CancerLinQ, ASCO)
● Initiation of KOSMOS (Korean Precision Medicine Project) - Jee Hyun KIM (Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, KSMO)
● Exploration of real-world Korean oncology data - Dae Young ZANG (Hallym University Medical Center, KSMO)
● The symposium was chaired by Prof. Richard L. SCHILSKY (Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President, ASCO) and Prof. Tae Won KIM (Chairman, Board of Directors, KSMO)

ASCO and KSMO signed ASCO Breakthrough co-host agreement in 2018, and the highlights of the 2019 ASCO Breakthrough included:

● The session was chaired by ASCO President Prof. Howard A. BURRIS (Sarah Cannon Research Institute, USA) and KSMO former Chairman Prof. Tae-You KIM (Seoul National University Hospital, Korea)
